Starring Peter Knight, director of the Australian Art Orchestra.
Now entering its 20th season The Uncertain Hour, Club Inégales turns its ever-adventurous gaze to the troubled times in which we live and work. Over five concerts, we’ll be exploring stories of of change – historic and personal – to find beauty in equally liminal times, after which nothing can be the same.
THE WORLD BEYOND, is the fourth of our five concert series, and for this show we’ll be welcoming Peter Knight (trumpet, electronics), the director of the Australian Art Orchestra, a leading innovative band that explodes genre. Peter will be teaming up with Alice Zawadzki (violin, voice) and other members of our resident band Notes Inégales to perform The Plains – ‘an extraordinary series of musical mirages that form on an endless sonic horizon reflecting and reimagining the wide-open spaces of the Australian landscape’.
“Knight’s ingenuity makes for a thrilling moment by way of his breath control, rhythmic precision and split-second timing, which create the sound of rolling train wheels or a slow revving car engine.” – Jazzwise on Peter Knight
“Beguiling, unorthodox tunes and pure vocals.” – The Independent on Alice Zawadzki
